Heres an interesting couple of charts of a Cato Instiute report from earlier this year, showing state spending and SAT scores going back to 1972, more than 40 years....In Idaho, per pupil spending has increased almost 70 percent, but SAT scores have declined about 2 percent.....Adjusted for participation and demographics (which schools often cite), theyre down even more, close to 3 percent......My opponent is against measuring student achievement as a part of teacher performance....says teachers cant control how students learn or not (TN 10/08/2014); says citizen investment in education through taxes is merely crumbs. From 2003 to 2015, 12 years, Idahos public schools budget has gone from $920m to $1.374m, close to 50 percent increase, yet SAT scores havent changed in 40 years......Average teacher pay in Idaho has risen sharply, and is now over $52k per year, yet critics and my opponent say taxes need to be higher to fund further increases......See..... cato.org/publications/policy-analysis/state-education-trends#/ID
