Heres an opportunity to find out if Alissa Keny-Guyer, for House District 46, supports Oregons motorcycle riders. Heres the interview questionnaire, developed by the BikePAC executive board. BikePAC of Oregon, Inc. Voters Guide Questions 2014 (January 2014 edition) 1) This question is in regards to Liberty issues, in that the individual motorcyclist has the right to choose what safety gear they decide works the best for them. These issues could include such items as eyewear, clothing, shoes/boots, gloves, helmets, etc. Do you support the right of the individual to choose for themselves what safety gear to avail themselves of? 2) This question refers to the ability of the motorcyclist to assist in improving the flow of traffic on multi-lane highways/roadways and thereby reducing traffic jams and crashes. Do you support the concept of Lane Sharing? 3) This question refers to the usage of ethanol in motor vehicles. Ethanol is an unproven product utilized to reduce pollution and has many unanswered questions regarding the potential damaging effects of ethanol on combustion engines and actual attainment of reduction of pollution goals. Do you support the use of 10% ethanol? Do you support the use of 15% ethanol even though no testing has yet to be done? Do you support the concept of allowing filling stations to have available one pump of non-ethanol gasoline (where it is feasible and at the station’s discretion)? Do you support the concept of stopping the use of ethanol in combustion engines? 4) This question refers to the Milkman Mike bill. It requires responsibility to be set for crashes, especially those that result in death or injury. If possible, this is to be done at the scene of the crash. This would require a citation, if needed, at the scene of the crash. Do you support the concept that in the unfortunate incident of a crash, that the one causing the crash be held responsible and note such at the scene, thereby removing obstacles in treatment or other issues arising due to the crash? 5) This question has to do with Discrimination/Profiling. Currently the Oregon Constitution prohibits discrimination but it is not being enforced or even acted upon, even in the event of overwhelming evidence. Will you support forcing agencies to enforce the law as written or the introduction of a new law, such as the State of Washington has passed prohibiting Profiling?
