Heres an update. Life has been getting better and better and this of course means facebook is not at the top of my to do list. First off, A BIG CORRECTION: After meeting with the EMT doc, we found out that my sinuses actually are free from glass. The shards are located in the fatty tissue of my face. This is a whole lot easier to take care of which is good news. My hand is making really good progress and Im starting to get some of my grip strength back. We finally got in with the contact lens doc on Monday and I was placed with my first contact lens for my right eye. You would think that after having so many people touch and poke my eyes over the past 3 months, I wouldve gotten use to it, but no. I dont like putting it in but it does free up a lot of my range of vision which is awesome. It doesnt however improve my vision compared to my glasses but the doc has already ordered another in efforts to make it better. Its pretty thick and is weighted to correct for a large astigmatism I have so its kinda tricky to put in. Im really excited to have it though and am excited to start looking like myself again. I am trying to set up a date to defend my thesis in the beginning of September which will be a huge weight off my shoulders! After thats complete well look into scheduling surgeries for my face and right ear drum. Overall, life is good and were adjusting to this new life situation as best we can.
