Heres an update on how Eat The Math participant David Jeffery is doing. Well, day 4. I am aware that I am getting run down. It starts to be a bit harder to keep up the same pace or expenditure of energy through the day without adequate food. I am running out of food as there are some items that I can’t eat, they don’t sit with me. The other awareness is that because of the role I am in with regard to work I have access to a lot of vicarious abundance. There have been four opportunities this week to access free food, breakfast and lunch. I have declined these so far and brought my own. Today I will partake in a free lunch. My reserves are carrying me through the week. If I were to live on this food for weeks or months I could not fulfill the obligations of this job and would have to find work with far less responsibility. Clearly, foodbank food items that I have and I imagine they are typical for most users do not provide sustainable nutrition. We need a better answer to poverty than Foodbanks structured the way I am experiencing them this week. How about a living Wage. Stay tuned for tomorrows musings.
