Heres an update regarding the body found in the Grand River at Grand Haven Harbor Yesterday: “Death Investigation Continues – Awaiting Autopsy Results” Update Number 3 – 7/10/2014 at 10:45am An autopsy was performed late this morning at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids. Detectives are awaiting the results of autopsy procedures and attempting to identify the deceased through forensics. The investigation continues and Detectives are reviewing missing person reports from throughout Michigan. Additional information will be provided when available. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Number 2 – 7/9/2014 at 4:30pm The death investigation continues regarding a body found in the Grand River at the Grand Haven Harbor this morning. The body was found floating this morning near Dewey Hill. Detectives are working to identify the deceased. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow to determine the cause of death. Updates will be provided as information becomes available. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Number 1 – 7/9/2014 at 12pm Public Safety Officers from the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety entered the Grand River near Dewey Hill to recover the body of the deceased. The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety was assisted by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol boat. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death. The investigation and efforts to identify the deceased continue. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 7-9-2014 Time of Call: Approximately 8:54am Public Safety Officers from the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety were dispatched to the Grand River at the Grand Haven Harbor near Dewey Hill to investigate the report of a body in the river. A dredging crew located the body and made the report. The deceased is a white male. An investigation is underway to determine the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding his death.
