Heres another good example of the Police PR Spin Machine. A New Jersey cop was killed in the line of duty this week by a man who was then killed by the officers partner. It was an unfortunate incident, but isolated. And its good the partner killed the man because he was a cold-blooded murderer already wanted for a previous homicide. But the cops decided to hype this for all they can, so they released a statement to the media about having credible information that the street gang Bloods will be descending upon Jersey to retaliate. The New York Post ran with it under the headline Bloods threaten to kill more cops (first link below) as the police department beefed up its patrol and now had an excuse to shake down innocent citizens, claiming they were in fear for their lives.
