Heres another new one thats not in my book, A Cowboy Spirit, chosen as True West Magazines top pick for Western poetry book of 2014, available at Amazon, BarnesandNoble, Xlibris bookstore and other sites. Hope you enjoy this one! Angels Round Us © 11/4/14, Stuart Hooker Theres a cowboy on the range, ridin his blue roan, And though he looks so lonely, he is not alone, Now, Im not talkin bout the cottontail, the quail, the snakes, Nor the elk and deer hidin in the cedar breaks; Im talkin bout a girl he knew many years ago, Why The Lord took her too soon, he will never know, And another ridin with him, would be his own grandpa, A better hand with cattle, the cowboy never saw; See, each of us has lost folks, of whom we really care, I believe theres angels round us, leadin us somewhere, We dont know the outcome, we may not know the way, But if we listen to em, we will be okay; If you see that cowboy out there, ridin his blue roan, Know theres angels round him, not made of flesh and bone, If we listen to em, and take care long our way, Well make it to the bunkhouse to give thanks as we pray; Theres a cowboy on the range, ridin his blue roan, And though he may look lonely, he is not alone, We dont know the outcome, we may not know the way, But, with angels round us, we will be okay. © 11/4/2014, Stuart Hooker (You may repost this poem to your timeline, but any other reproduction, or retransmission of it is prohibited without the written consent of the author, Stuart Hooker.)
