Heres another one from Mike Farris with the Grammy nominated Paul Brown (a recent & hopefully long-term addition to Mikes nine piece Roseland Rhythm Revue). I figure Willie Shorter Jr could use something a bit mellow (but just as potent) after his previous dance off encounter, courtesy of Farris & Co. Rolling Stone contributor Jewly Hight calls his performance the Best Go to Church Moment . A true Rock n Roll soul. My opinion bears repeating & I stand by my words; Mike Farris mentioned a relapse from recovery & the death of his father as reasons for the long delayed release of his latest album Shine For All the People. I dont give a damn about falling, stumbling, relapsing, etc. Its a blessed gift received when we finally do reach to be, and are, picked back up again. When GRACE meets our shame-filled gaze, past all the blood, mud and piss weve ALL made ourselves a mess of, and told by MERCY that we are loved, not for what were worth, but simply for loves sake. LOVE makes us worth more than we can imagine, more than we can ever forget, even and especially when such thoughts are a distant haze. This leaves no room for GUILT and declares CONDEMNATION an outlaw. For ALL the people. Thankfully so. I hope to shine brighter with the help of a little Mercy Now...
