Heres by courtesy of S Wayne Canapp, I Never Knew performed by Ben Selvins Orchestra (https://youtube/watch?v=1Afsiq5k68w) with Arthur Halls opera comic vocals, Earl Olivers growling trumpet, Sammy Lewiss crazy trombone, Gus Sharp, Allen Christianson & an unknown guy on alto & tenor saxes doubling on clarinets & baritone saxes, Al Glazers piano, Tony Toots Coluccis banjo, an unknown tuba & Sam(my) Sonny Tudors drums. This side was cut on October 6 from 1925 in New York & originally issued on Banner 1635, Regal 9942 & Domino 3608 as Newport Society Orchestra, Oriole 522 as Baltimore Society Orchestra (with Arthur Hall renamed as Charles Nelson), canadians Apex 8426, Domino 21106, Microphone 22055 (as Moulin Rouge Orchestra), Starr 10090 & australian Leonora 10090 & german Artiphon 2230. I dont know who is the 2nd trumpet at this side, but the lead alto sax sounds like Larry Abbott (i think he is presumably the unknown guy at the sax). Hope youll enjoy this Ted Fio Rito & Gus Kahn tune a lot!
