Heres how cool my job is: A food bank calls and tells me their walk in freezer broke down and they lost all of their frozen proteins, etc... Ok thats bad right? Well they were able to get it fixed but had no protein to replace what was lost. After a couple of phone calls we now have a truck going to Kent to pick up 2,000+ pounds of protein as well as frozen vegetables. We also have a truck going to Vancouver to pick up potatoes, carrots and other goodies. All in all we will be able to pull in about 7 tons of food in two days with little or no notice and its all donated! I cant tell you all how much I appreciate our donors, the distribution centers we work with, my coworkers and the most of all the volunteers that make this all happen! Once again I am humbled and feeling blessed.
