I am Sachiko Soeda, serving as a project specialist at a graduate school of the University of Tokyo. We are going to implement a grant summer program on Japanese media and popular culature as described below. I humbly ask your kind understanding and support to circulate the message on the program amongst your members. I would be very grateful for your assistance in advance. An institute of the University of Tokyo, Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, will implement a summer program to study Japanese media and popular culture from theoritical and practitioner perspectives. The program features are as follows: 1. Two-week program open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students regardless of their major study areas. We shall also accept a limited number of applicants who have already engaged in the professional works of media and culture area; 2. Providing financial support to all participants: accommodations for the full period of two week, subsidy for airfares (up to 100,000 yen) (Note: only students are applicable.). No program fees and tuition will be charged; 3. Official certificate will be given to participants who complete the program; and 3. Application procedures: On-line application is available.
