Heres my 2014 reflection. Life is all about learning lessons, taking advantage of the opportunities in front of you, spreading good energy, and working hard to attain your goals. 2014 was an eventful year for me. I completed my last year of my graduate program at Columbia University, I made public appearances and gave speeches that reached thousands - offering a relatable and professional resource for those in nursing and beyond, I was backed by an amazing team at Scrubs Magazine who partnered with me to give those in the nursing community a real Nurse to identify with to get information to the masses, my team and I started a You Tube Channel which over the last 4 months has seen over 50,000 views and thousands of subscribers, I collaborated my favorite uniform companies Dickies medical and Cherokee Workwear who sponsored free scrubs and goodie bags including stethoscopes to the students and nurses at the conventions I spoke at, I took up boxing, managed to put in another year in the ER, moved to Harlem, traveled with Capella University School of Nursing to help inspire the Nurse Leader in us all, was an honored guest speaker at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, MISSOURI Student Nurses Association Convention, ANCC National Magnet Convention, saw another Season of NY MED on ABC successfully completed, shared my story of losing a job with millions which I hope taught us all several lessons- youre not defined by your worst moments and mistakes- its how you own what you did and come out strong and move forward, I traveled, learned to be okay with my Sallie Mae investment ugh lol, grew in my own accountability and responsibility as a role model, met some fabulous people and as of right now am planning to make 2015 bigger and better. Always strive to be the best YOU. Thank you all for your support and for the constant love and encouragement. It truly means the world to me. I couldnt do any of this without that support. Always believe in your dreams. Dont listen to the nay sayers- there will always be many of them. Ignore the negativity and jealousy of others. Do your own thing. Work hard, always.
