Heres my FREE SPEECH: There is NO PLACE for bigotry in the world today. It is completely fair enough for journalists, to be held responsible and accountable in a court of law for getting their facts wrong and expressing views which offend people on terms of their race. Having respect for the descendants of the first people of this land should be educated and constitutionally enforced. Senator Brandis should be stood down immediately for wasting time in his job and inflaming a wasteful public debate that belongs in decades past. Lobbying for the right to be a bigot, has no place in an Australian parliament in 2014. It is a gross mismanagement of the rights to free speech debate. Travelling overseas in the USA and Europe and meeting respected friends and people who ask about the way in which Australia treats its indigenous people, is one of the most embarrassing and unfortunate situations i have found myself in during my life. Our countrys general global reputation as being racist is overwhelming, and its not hard to see why with a debate like this going on. Our government should be doing all in its power to change this perception of the country. Andrew Bolt should be stood down for his part in this wasteful debate. There are plenty of good journalists in the world, and he has shown himself to be incapable of performing a role in this regard. Bigotry causes wars like those we see in the middle east. There is no reason to argue FOR it. The End.
