Heres my bullying story (which Ive been telling my son since he was a toddler): When I was in 1st Grade in the Philippines, I used to get beat up by one of the biggest kids in class. I was an easy target being one of the smallest kids in class (I was always a scrawny kid - even as a freshman in high school I weighed 83 pounds). Everyday before class would start, the bully (his name was Boey) and his henchman would corner me in the back of the room where our cubbys were and literally kick and punch me. One day in the lunchroom, I made the mistake of accidentaly spilling the teachers pets water on him (everybody respected the teachers pet since he was getting all the praise from the teacher). The whole class looked at me and I just ran 3 flights of stairs back to our homeroom. Next thing I know, Boey the Bully was standing in front of me and I knew what was coming. Fearing for my life, I just started punching him in the stomach. Next thing you know. Boey started crying You didnt have to punch me. As he wailed in pain, one of my classmates pinned me up against the wall. When I went home, I got in trouble for the fight, which I tried to explain to my aunt that it was not my fault, but I dont know how convincing I was. The next day was a brand new day for me. I just beat up Boey after all and made him cry no less. On the way to school on the bus, the 7th graders were egging on Boeys henchman to fight me. He was sitting behind me and mean muggin me. Next thing you know, I started punching him in the face. To make a long story short, the 7th graders had to rush to his aid cause of the bloody nose he suffered from my wrath. From then on, I wasnt takin no shorts. I learned to master my evil eye as a preventative measure. It was a success story for me that reminds me of some of my favorite flicks (like Bruce Lee movies, Back to the Future, etc.). I dont know how I would have turned out if I didnt fight back. That was one of the lessons I learned very early on. ~The End
