Heres my deep thought for today. People are very uneducated about animal rescue. Besides just the obvious fact that they dont know all that goes into it energy-wise, they also just are ignorant to how amazing rescue animals are. Consider this. Whenever you suggest to someone that they rescue instead of buying from their supposed reputable/responsible breeder or (god forbid) a pet store, their cop out excuse is always that they want to know every single thing about their dog and raise it their way and that you just dont know the back story or what youre getting when you get a shelter dog. Well, I find this philosophy incredibly stupid. Heres why. As people, we get into relationships on a daily basis - new co-workers/bosses, new friendships, and obviously new romantic relationships. Do we EVER know 100% of anyones story upon meeting them? But yet we can manage to find the trust to take a chance on pretty much any human, despite the fact that it is likely down the road that they can, (and probably will) disappoint, hurt, or even tear our heart out. Which is far worse damage that will ever be done to you by a rescue dog. That I can assure you. So stop using that excuse for buying dogs and stop allowing others to perpetuate that negative untruth and EDUCATE THEM!
