Title : NEW ARIEL ADS VIOLATES RA 9646. Dear Sirs/Madam; Wed like to request your help to call the attention of the advertisers of the new ads of Ariel which showed a violation of RESA law or RA 9646. The endorser used the title Real Estate Consultant which obviously she is not. Currently, there are only 98 of us who can claim to the title and about 3 of the 98 died recently(old age illness). We know almost all of our colleagues and most of us are over 40. To become a Real Estate Consultant, one needs to be a licensed RE Broker for not less than 10 years or 5 years as Real Estate Appraiser. In our profession, the REC is the only profession who has to take 2 days of examination. First as written and second as oral exam. This is the highest norm in the real estate profession and we are frustrated the title is being used irresponsibly by many developers as titles to their unlicensed agents. https://youtube/watch?v=pha-IHhSXp8 The advertisers obviously did not research properly the profession they used because we have a new law, that is RA 9646 that legalizes all real estate service professionals and we are under PRC. You can find a copy of this law online. The use of the title Real Estate Consultant is an insult and disrespect in our profession and a violation of RA 9646 or usurpation of authority. We need your help in dessiminating this information to the public and to the companies involve in showing of this ad. They should first do a thorough research before using any titles of profession. This is a misrepresentation and the public must know about RESA law. They should remove the ad or use a duly licensed RESP! We hope you can make an article on this and being one of the more respectable media on the internet, we would like to ask for your help in airing our plights in this industry. Despite the law, there are still so many colorums and even the teleseryes are using our profession indiscriminately.
