Heres my end-of-year thank-you letter. THANK YOU!! For your support, friendship, and great comments/posts in 2014. It was both a good and bad year for me (thats life), but keeping this post about writing, here are some of the highlights. 1. I wrote seven books this year (in order): Rules for a Proper Governess; Scandal and the Duchess (the book that nearly killed me); Kieran (Tales of the Shareem book 7); Mate Bond (Shifters); Murder in Grosvenor Square (Capt Lacey book 9); Bear Attraction (Shifters); and a brand new book I can tell you about next week. :-) 2. I nearly quit writing. I was so burned out, so tired, so sick of publishing games, that I wanted to stop. I fortunately had a serious talk with myself, and a midnight brainstorming, creative session in which I broke through that barrier and set myself back on the path. What did I tell myself? YOU CAN WRITE ANYTHING YOU WANT. DONT STOP YOURSELF, AND DONT BE AFRAID. 3. The next five books I wrote are some of my best work (in my opinion; youre allowed your own, LOL), and challenged me in a good way. 4. I made the top 10 New York Times paperback list for the first time (Id made NYT before, but not top 10) The book that made it is Wild Wolf (Shifters). 5. Got a pretty new website, combining Jennifer Ashley and Allyson James. I love how it looks, and its a snap to update myself. Awesome! Plus I finally landed my own domain jenniferashley Been chasing that down for *years*. 6. Got off my buttocks and wrote a brand new book in a brand new (for me) genre! (more about that next week). 7. Wore myself out traveling. I went everywhere twice (twice to San Diego, twice to Texas, twice to Tucson, twice to a couple of other places). I planned to go more places in November, but was too wiped out. Decided to stay the heck home and write! 8. Reconnected with old friends, started doing things again Id loved in the past but had to set aside for deadlines. Rejuvenated myself in many ways. But enough about the past. Whats coming up next year? A ton of stuff! January: New book, which will first come out in a multi-author boxed set; then on its own in e- and print. (again, more on that next week) Feb: Bear Attraction (Shifters) (I really like this one) March: Shifter Mates (the print anthology of Lone Wolf and Feral Heat). Plus new books in new series! April: Mate Bond (Shifters) (I really like this one too) May: Either Stormwalker or Capt Lacey, whichever gets done first. June: More Shifters! First released in a multi-author set then released (in print and e-) on its own. July and beyond: Capt. Lacey, Stormwalker, catching up with other series, plus more Mackenzies (which Im writing now), and other great stuff! Again, thanks for all your support, and heres to a great 2015! (To keep up with all these releases, go to my website jenniferashley and sign up for my newsletter at the top, if you havent already). So--what have you been up to??
