Heres my homemaking/money/time-saving tip of the day: when we find - TopicsExpress

Heres my homemaking/money/time-saving tip of the day: when we find a good buy on hamburger meat (like we did today for a 10-pound container of it at Sams), we take it home, divide it, put it in ziplock bags; then we roll them flat and seal out as much air as possible. Because they are flat, they stack easily in the freezer. Also, when I get ready for one, because it is thin, it thaws easily. This is one-months worth of hamburger for us. It will be used in chili, spaghetti sauce, tacos, casseroles, etc. When the recipe calls for brown, drain, and crumble, it just takes a few minutes to turn this from frozen meat into a meal. (I am the photographer; Robert is rolling it out. What a good helper! :) )
