Heres my pal Bo Micadelic breaking down the dramatic events that took place at Uptown Comedy Corner, where Mike Epps and his posse jumped my friend Lavar, broke his glasses and threw his phone on the roof for impersonating him in an instagram video. I hope Mike gets better and deals with whatever he is going through in a smarter way. Why not just make a funny retaliation video? Where is this anger coming from? Our job is to make people laugh, and Mike has done that over and over again. So its surprising to me that a man who gets so much love and support from people would be that upset about being made fun of by another comedian. Someone who has done so well in the industry and is respected by so many. The inability to control your anger isnt going to prove your worth, the ability to remain calm and be at peace with who you are and those around you earns respect. Im sorry Lavar had to go through that because its not fun to get beat up and its definitely a scary experience that I wouldnt want anyone to go through. Not to mention he works very hard at doing what he loves and is great at doing it. He has supported my show many times and had people rolling over and over again. I dont want to live in a world where you can get roughed up for making people laugh. And if you are the object of a joke, deal with it. Being made fun of is a part of life. If youre a comedian you most likely have made fun of a lot of different people, so you cant dish it out and be above it at the same time. With that being said, I wish both of them well and I hope they can make peace with it in the future. Also, if they could take me on the road with them thatd be awesome. Thats really what this post is about.
