Heres my story...sad but true... Did you know that Affinity takes their employees to court to prevent them from receiving Unemployment Insurance as a way to retaliate? Yes, its true. I worked there for 5 long years creating things such as Affinity University. I did most of my work remotely (from home) because everything was developed online. Well, when I was away on vacation in the Philippines my 1 year-old son got very ill and had to be taken to hospital for severe upper respiratory infection. When I told my boss I COULD work remotely and return a few days later, they sent me an email to tell me I was fired! To top that off, take a guess why the company doesnt have any money to give raises to some deserving employees or even a little bonus? Heres why... the head of HR at Affinity is spending that money on lawyers to fight for the little tax they would normally pay on the measly $1000 I was eligible for in Unemployment. Imagine that! a health care company who is supposed to be looking out for YOUR well-being, putting an entire FAMILY at risk with NO health insurance OR even unemployment to pay our medical bills. NEWS 12 (and maybe another station) is going to do a story about this since myself and another 5 ex-employees have gotten together to tell our stories so other employees and potential members can protect themselves from this horrific company.
