Heres one more shot from the Warton Tract forest fire at Hammonton - TopicsExpress

Heres one more shot from the Warton Tract forest fire at Hammonton NJ in 1977 with this view being taken on the evening of 17th April. This one was taken just before nightfall at Hammonton Airport with two Grumman AgCat bi-planes from Downstown Aero Crop Service in action. Tank wagons from Hammonton FC No. 2 and Mullica Township were re-filling the planes and each one would take off, gain just a bit of altitude, make the drop where directed, circle around, then land back on the airfield with each circuit taking less than two minutes. The aeroplanes could not make drops after dark so they were trying to get as many drops in as possible before going back to Downstown Airport near Mizpah for the night. Lastly, a Cadillac ambulance from a local first aid squad remained on standby and is seen in the distance near the tank wagons. (a Kodak 135 print by J. D. Floyd II, Royal Blue Ltd. archives)
