Heres our first Meet the Board Monday Facebook post, yall. Happy #MeetTheBoardMonday, Coogs! Say howdy to the Chairman of Frontier Fiesta, Kelley Poblete. In addition to leading the greatest tradition on our campus, this wonderful woman is finishing her Senior year with a double degree in Biochemistry and Mathematical Biology. And as if that wasnt enough, she is also completing her minor in Chemistry. Talk about a well rounded lady, am I right? Lets take a look at our Chairs favorite memory from Frontier Fiesta 2014. The first night of Frontier Fiesta we had A Great Big World. Well, the board was backstage with the performers and when they went on and started playing, my favorite moment was seeing the crowd enjoy the music and sing along to the music. It was a feeling of accomplishment because we could say we did this. We put this show on and people enjoyed it and all of our hard work paid off. When asked why she loves Frontier Fiesta, this is what she had to say: I love Fiesta because the organization is like a family to me and I found a home within the organization. We all go through the long days and long nights, but we get through it together. Frontier Fiesta, as an organization, works hard to put on an event that can make students proud to go to this university. Frontier Fiesta is a unique event to the University of Houston and it provides a place to have fun, see performances and carnival games done by students, raise money for scholarship and just be able to network with people you would never see in the academic setting. Frontier Fiesta to me, brings together groups of people you never would have seen together and allows interaction and unity of our student body, faculty, staff and alumni at one location. We want to provide for students an unforgettable experience that they can be proud to say they went to when they become an alumni.
