Heres part of a story well have for tomorrow about the Mount Shasta mudslide: The mudflow that flushed debris into Mud Creek Canyon on the southeast side of Mt. Shasta was not significantly affected by the rain Wednesday evening, according to Shasta-Trinity National Forest Public Information Officer Andrea Capp. Capp said that officials were concerned that a significant rain event could reactivate the flow, or affect other areas on the mountain, but no major changes were indicated. The two public roads hit by the slide – Pilgrim Creek Road and Forest Service Road 31 – remain closed, though Pilgrim Creek Road could reopen this weekend.
