Heres some clips of Matt Lowes training legs this afternoon. Matt has lost an incredible 12 kilos since finishing last season and were now building his strength and fitness for what will hopefully be his best ever year. He played most of last season with a damaged shoulder having damaged his AC joint. Despite this he made 2 appearances for Sale Sharks Academy. Matt is incredibly strong on the field but Ive been really happy with how his gym strength has improved over the last few weeks too. Today he managed 1 rep on 200kgs for the barbell hip raise. Hed done 4 reps on 190kgs so I was hoping for more but unfortunately the clips and plates fell off after one rep as you can see! We paired this up with cluster sets on the leg press. 3 reps with a 5 second pause at the top for 9 total reps. Following this we did some sled pulls and pushes with short rests then got out in the sun for his finisher. 5 squat jumps, 20m jog, 20m sprint and then 100m recovery jog. His jelly legs managed 3 sets of these. A massive well done from everyone here at Storm Matt, keep up the good work! Rob
