Heres some food for thought. Jesus explained that the seed sown on rocky ground referred to the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy, yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away. (Matt 13:20-21) Could there be millions of such shallow ground believers in America today, but they have not yet suffered tribulation or persecution because of the Word? Could it be that they have only endured because of lack of testing, and when the testing comes, they too will fall away?
