Heres some less than cheery news for those of us with the Reloading Jones. Im heading to Tennessee in a couple of weeks to visit my daughter. Since Ill be going through Chattanooga I thought Id call Natchez Shooting Supply to see if they had a real physical store. Their catalog is full of powder so Id hoped to pick up a few pounds and avoid the hazmat fee. Well, as I suspected, they are an online retailer only, but as I did not suspect, they have no powder. None. Zip. At the SHOT show they were promised 20,000 pounds of powder by May. To date, they have received none. The gentleman on the phone was kind enough to chat for awhile and he said that the ammo manufacturers, in an effort to keep up with demand were now working extra shifts, buying more manufacturing equipment, etc. and all of the powder was going to them. Ill admit that the ammo situation is far better now and that the customer needing 250,000 of powder is more attractive than the one needing five pounds, but, dang, here we are in the middle of yet another shortage.
