Heres something that confuses me: People seem to be so deeply insulted when you suggest they (or society) may be biased. That strikes me as the right response internally, because we WANT to be personally and societally fair and unbiased. So if thats true... if you truly are insulted by the suggestion youre not fair and biased... doesnt that also mean you SHOULD WANT to examine your views, reactions, beliefs etc. to MAKE SURE youre being fair and unbiased? And if it turns out that you or your society are actually biased, and your original sense of insult stemmed from your sense that you shouldnt be, why take that as an indictment instead of an invitation to engage in a process of growth?
