Heres something that many of you have heard about, but this blog puts it all on one article. What it doesnt discuss though is this: Amazon counts KU borrows as sales in the rankings. Literally the DAY KU started my rankings dropped across the board, and continued that slide for weeks. At first the sales numbers stayed the same even though the rankings dropped, but of course at a certain point the algorithms kicked in and my dropping ranks equated to dropping visibility, which in turn equated to dropping sales. My income was halved within about 60 days. It finally stabilized, but Ive never recovered.
