Heres something you can learn from Olympians! Think about this; if each time you stopped and asked yourself when you felt stuck, discouraged, frustrated or exhausted What would an Olympian do? - and then actually did it, youd come out on the other side victorious and feeling accomplished, wouldnt you? The reason Olympians are at the level theyre at is because whether they fail at something once, a hundred times or a thousand times, theyve got no quit in them... they forge on until they get it right and become the best at their event. They let nothing internal or external stop them from achieving what they know is their purpose. When anyone tells me I cant do anything, Im just not listening anymore.-- Florence Griffith Joyner, gold medalist in track -1988 In life, personal and business, there are endless roadblocks that youll encounter - just consider each of those a test, a gut check to see if you have what it really takes to make it. Dont look at these roadblocks as a sign that youre not cut out for this... its just a test of your will and determination. Those roadblocks are there for a reason - dont stop. Smash through them! “I am building a fire, and every day I train, I add more fuel. At just the right moment, I light the match.” -- Mia Hamm, gold medalist in women’s soccer Olympic athletes dont give up, they just dont. Olympic athletes dont give up because whats at stake is much too valuable for them to risk loosing. Thats how YOU should look at your fitness goals. ...whats at stake is your freedom, your lifestyle, your kids and grandkids experience of you, your future... and your health as you grow older. It comes down to hard work, determination and perseverance. If you want what you want bad enough, then youll put your excuses on the shelf and do what you need to do to get there. No Olympic athlete got to the Olympic games purely because of luck or chance. Each of them arrive at their opening ceremonies as a result of months and years of dedicating themselves to something that theyre passionate about. When everyone else left the field, they stayed hours later and practiced. They did this for months on end because what they were working toward is something that they had incredible passion for. Much like you and your goals, youre passionate about reaching them and help, But maybe youre not quite there. Maybe you need more time or better cardio or more consistency in your food habits . Whatever it is, youve got to train at it and get better than any one has a right to be. The worst place you can be is in the middle of the herd... or worse, behind it. Athletics, just like Olympians is a game of preparedness. “If you fail to prepare, you’re prepared to fail.” -- Mark Spitz, winner of 7 gold medals I can tell you this from personal experience... its NOT impossible... if you want something bad enough, you can have it. “Nothing is impossible. With so many people saying it couldn’t be done, all it takes is an imagination.” -- Michael Phelps, U.S. gold medalist in swimming.
