Heres the answer to our weather trivia question from earlier today! Q: How fast do raindrops fall? A: Without taking into consideration wind speeds, you might think Oh it falls at terminal velocity. That is correct, but terminal velocity depends on the size of an object and not all raindrops are created equally in size. The smallest of drops (drizzle/mist), less than 0.5 mm across, fall at about 5 mph. Larger drops, up to 5 mm across, can fall at nearly 20 mph. That could do some damage on erosion-prone areas!
