Heres the bottom line on the next two weeks: Its going to get very cold by November standards, and at least some of us will likely see more snow. Well kick things off with the passage of a cold front later this week. Upslope snow will be likely in the mountains after the front passes. Ski resorts could do pretty well with this if everything sets up right. Things will start to get real interesting next week as the AO tanks. Models are suggesting temperatures could be well below average in about ten days. Well have to keep an eye on any storm systems that form and see if they can throw some moisture into the cold air. Theres nothing specific on the models right now, but I would not be shocked to see some sort of widespread wintry threat before December 1. Make no mistake about it, folks: Winter IS coming- and probably much sooner than any of us expected.
