Heres the column from the PTG President - sorry its late, I just wanted to get everyone who brought donuts to be recognized! Your kids sure enjoyed those tasty donuts this morning! The Student Council handed out more than 480 of them, all donated by parents. Among those who gave the gift that keeps on giving – yes, take it from me, eat a couple of donuts and you’ll feel it all day! – are Gina Metz, Jen O’Bryan, Jami Strona, Julie Lyle, Rosie Watling, Tony Armino, Michele McGown, Thai Park, Ping Lee, Julia Zamora, Carolyn Davis, Jacquelyn Brown, Kimberly Guida, Katy Frankel, Carmen & Rob Bailey, Joddie Preclaro, Shannon Farwell, Carla Colin, Shelly Dever and Angie Wright. (If I left anyone out, it’s, uh, Hunter’s fault). I spoke this week to our Golf Tournament chairs, Stuart Chin and Angus McDonald, and they wanted me to let you know that things are progressing smoothly for the big annual fundraiser, which this year happens to fall on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, at the El Camino Country Club. We still have openings for players – everyone can play, even if you’re not the next Phil Mickelson – and we especially want to get more women involved. On top of that, the evening dinner is always a blast, with a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner. I’m not a golfer myself, but I wouldn’t miss the evening’s festivities for anything in the world. I hope to see you there. That said, we would use a few more items for the silent auction portion of the dinner. Specifically, Stuart wanted me to ask you for sporting event tickets, show tickets, hotel stays, vacation/timeshare getaways, brewery/winery tours, and any merchandise. If you can help out, please email Stuart at Stuart.Chin@tmag. Also, a hearty thank you to everyone who helped during Catholic Schools Week, particularly during last Sunday’s Open House. I’ve never seen an Open House so well attended, and this was my 14th one! I even waxed nostalgic and visited the Kindergarten classroom, and teacher Maureen Moriarty, who taught all three of my boys, dating back to 2001! It still looks the same, and so does she. Time stood still – and when I got home I longed to see my loving, innocent little Kindergartners again. But they’re all grown up now… Until next week, folks!
