Heres the current official information from CalFire Mendocino Unit about the Lodge LCA Fire, 83 acres as of 8 am this morning, 23 percent contained; burning in wildlands northwest of Laytonville: 345 total personnel are aggressively attacking the Lodge Fire by constructing containment lines. Equipment involved: 2 fire engines, 16 crews, 5 bulldozers, 2 air tankers, 5 helicopters, and 1 water tender. Fires burning in heavy timber, rugged terrains, difficult access. There were three fires caused by lightning early Wednesday morning; one is 100 percent contained. The containment on the other two fires is at 23 percent. No injuries, no structures threatened. Cooperating agencies: Laytonville Fire Department, Bureau of Land Management, and the CA Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Dry fuel conditions, above-normal temperatures, and low daytime relative humidity will continue to be a challenge to firefighters.
