Heres the deal yo! Been reading a lot of articles and newsletters from many colleagues of mine addressing the importance of intuitive exercise and intuitive eating. Supercool bc its something Ive been preaching. Intuitive anything is fantastic! But heres the problemo. Many of you dont even know what that it is. Ill keep it simple- its tuning inward to know what your body needs. Listening to subtle cues , your body innately knows what is good or bad for it. But guess what???? With the flooding of messages on media and social media, weve gotten confused and that intuitive muscle is weakened! These are just some examples - Work hard play harder, cheat days bc I worked so hard, no carbs past 7, no carbs, running to lose weight Bikram yoga is the best bc youll sweat out all your weight etc Soooo my health and wellness friends, we need to be careful with the way we teach our clients. Our clients have been programmed for so long that the simple messaging of intuitive eating and exercising is making them (dare I say it!!!) LAZY!!!! Its not ok that they forgo the movement of the body altogether. Theres a fine line between missing a workout bc your body is clueing you to slow down or bc you read somewhere that less exercise makes you lose weight more. I love teaching this stuff but we cannot go from one extreme to the other just like that. To my health and wellness professionals, stop with the bs and take responsibility for your teachings. Eating RIGHT, exercising RIGHT are important, but RIGHT is different for everyone. One womans miracle food is another womans poison. Same with exercise. Are you confused yet? I know, give it time. Just keep eating natural foods (non chemically made foods) and move your body in ways that make you feel energized, not punished. Thats all for this beautiful Monday :)
