Heres the latest lid project, its like, totally 80s. I love the combo of pink and black, besides the 80s mall colors, kind of reminds me of Good n Plenty licorice treats. Anyway, interesting story of the black lids, of course I had a good amount from past foraging, but then when I went out in seach of, alas could not find. So, with these lid projects ir has been about going to the source, and I figured out that the black lids came from Juice Press bottles, an expensive organic juice that I believe is local. So then I figured out that Commodities, a green grocer in the East Village, sold a lot of this juice, so I checked the recycling around the store, and voila! I had all the lids I needed! I even saw a guy drinking a bottle and said, Hey, are you going to finish that, I need the lid for an art project and he, although chatting on his cell, happily obliged and handed it over, restoring my faith in humanity.
