Saturday, Feb 8th, at 1pm, Downtown Library, I am giving a talk. I was asked to give a talk as part of a monthly library series. Instead of trying to think of some brilliant subject to speak about, I decided I wanted to do an AMA. That stands for Ask Me Anything. Its much easier for me to answer questions than to deliver a talk on a specific subject. When I stop at tables to chat people always have questions so maybe it will work in the library too? The Gator basketball game is at noon and Im talking at 1. Hmmm... Tough competition. Anyway, just thought you should know if you have some burning question like How fast does a cheetah run Satch? 2. Lots of kids thought our hammock out back was a trampoline. They successfully broke it last week and I successfully replaced it this week. The hammock is not a trampoline. Please enjoy and respect our new hammock. Parents, I understand how nice it is when the kids arent bugging you and you can have a completed thought, but remember, we want to have nice things. We need your kids to be safe. Explain to them what a hammock is for and show them a picture of a trampoline. Know what I mean? 3. Saturday night Feb 8th, Nook and Cranny are playing the Lightnin Salvage stage. These guys will blow you away. Dont miss out. They are so good and fun and dont play that often.... Seriously. Awesome. For real. 4. I think I WILL represent the Gators for the SEC pizza bake off in Mississippi. I was stunned at the likes and comments. That was our most liked post EVER. The Satchels fans REALLY want me to represent the SEC and show off our pizza. I am waiting to hear back about the ovens available and some other details but Im in. Ill be giving you the blow by blow that Easter weekend in April. 5. In 2013 Satchels gave over $31,000 to charity. Over $25,000 was from our ATM fees. Folks, this is BIG MONEY and it is SO FUN to give it away. Just today we gave Rebuilding Together over $6000, Christians Concerned for the Community over $6000. These organizations are helping the needy right here in our area. Also, the Special Olympics can send 10 athletes to the state games with the $1450 they received today. Have you used our ATM? The Satchels site will soon have a squirrel with a twitchy tail that links you to something important. There are secret links and cool things to find on our 2 websites and our webmaster is always busy doing more so to qualify as a real fan please also spend some minutes on our sites. AND--- There is now a link to catering and LIVE MUSIC from our mobile site which is also now viewable on ipads. This is HOT and NEW info. 7. I love my job. I love my city. I love my employees and I love my customers. Giving away money, serving up tasty food, providing good jobs and a place for bands and art, creating a space for fellowship.... Thank you.
