Heres the obituary we created in honor of my mom... Janet L. Neukam On December 23, 2014, just three months past her eighty-fourth birthday, long time Los Gatos resident, Jan Neukam passed away at her home. Jan was born in Davenport, Iowa, September 27, 1930, beloved daughter of Anna and Arnold Moeller. Following graduation from Iowa State University, Jan worked as a calligrapher at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri. During that time she met George A. Neukam, and they moved to California on their honeymoon. Jan was a freelance artist, gourmet chef, active community member and friend to many. When her daughters were young she was on the PTA, School Site Council, active in the Montalvo Service Group and Art Docents. She also designed for Family Circle magazine and Paragon Needlepoint. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, and sister Diane. Survivors are daughters Lisa Carpenter (Al) and Amy Sanidad (Marv), grandsons Zachary and Duncan Carpenter, and Ben Sanidad, granddaughter Hailey Sanidad and brother Donald Moeller. A service celebrating her life is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 12 noon at Mission Santa Clara, 500 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA. Following the service there will be a reception at 2:00 pm at the History Club of Los Gatos,123 Los Gatos Boulevard, Los Gatos, CA. Remembrances may be made to Project Open Hand at openhand.org, to the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco at famsf.org, or to Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School at cristoreysanjose.org in her honor.
