Heres to the man who first demonstrated that Latin ballplayers had game. Roberto Clemente was a fixture in Pittsburgh for 18 years- his entire career. Four batting titles. 3000 lifetime hits. And that arm...oh, that ARM! Growing up listening to the calm, methodical Vin Scully, it was always a tip off to how amazing a player was when your heard the excitement build in Vins voice. As a kid, I marveled at what Clemente did with his bat, and in right field. And to top it off- a true humanitarian off the field, who unfortunately died in a plane crash en route to delivering supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua.
