Heres what Fellow Mazhar had to say about a recent before-school activity (he teaches in the afternoon shift), where he convinced his principal to clean out an empty, storage room that him and his students could use. There are two types of teachers: those who preach, and those who lead. I understood the true power of Teaching as Leadership last month, when I noticed that most kids had started wearing the same type of belt as I did... Today, my kids and I went to school early to clean the area. There were all kinds of rubbish, dust and animals in that room. And we scrubbed and scrubbed till it shone like anything! Lesson learnt: to inspire people, you have to change YOURSELF first! And then, your actions speak louder than your words ever could!
