Heres what I know…we took our son and DIL to see this movie last Sunday morning. As far as I know or can remember, Ive never seen my son cry because of a movie. I dont know about my DIL, but I bet the same is true. I know Ive never seen him cry because of a sermon or anything else that hes been exposed to his entire life in church. Not bashing the church, just saying…dont bash this movie until youve seen it yourself and even then…PRAISE GOD WE FINALLY HAVE CHRISTIAN FILMS…something I know Ive heard and seen Christians complain about forever! Stop tearing down something from your whitewashed tombs before you even see it. Listen to people you know rather than bloggers you will never meet. If your pastor who you listen to every Sunday has put his stamp of approval on going to see this film, then trust him instead. If you dont trust him, you need to find a difference church to attend. One who will follow all of the legalism you enjoy! Yes, we need to continue to improve Christian movies, but good grief, dont stop watching them to prove your point! This takes a lot of courage, especially for a Hollywood Power couple to take this on. The Kendrick brothers making Christian films is awesome, but sort of expected. When a Hollywood couples says, we want the world to know the Jesus we know…thats almost unheard of. Ok..rant over!
