Heres what I learned about sales at a Bachlorette Party! (YES I made money lol!) So I hate bars I rarely ever go in them unless I absolutely have to and Im not a fan of drinking. We were partying last night and theres this game where you sell suckers for money to drunk people and give the money to the bride. Well Im really good at sales, and Im really good at talking to people BUT..... I was in the most uncomfortable place! Bars ;( I was drinking water. And, I happened to buy glow sticks for the girls except I threw away the connectors. Obviously I dont use glow sticks lol Anyway, together we made $40 some dollars selling suckers, and glow sticks. Of all the girls I made the most money and had fun getting $5 a sucker 3 different times. Now they could have bought all 3 bags of suckers for $5 but I used all sorts of sales tactics, looking them dead straight in the eye, negotiations, sorry I dont have change, etc.. and of course it worked. The great part about this sales exercise was it required creative thinking. So we had Blow Pops so my tag line was Were Having A Blow Out Sale Drunk people love this tagline! The point is sales doesnt have to be boring and it isnt hard. People have all sorts of excuses. One guy said I dont have $5 and then pulled out a $5 and I got that $5. One random dude on the streets didnt have any money and he was creative and said lets take a picture together LOL Yes he got a sucker for that, because thats some awesome on the spot thinking. We got this other guy to sing an entire song for us while the bar was giving my sister free shots. We met up with a Bachelor party and sold suckers to the guys. The glow sticks were more popular then the suckers. And every single buyer came back to complain about not having a connector but not a single one of them asked for their money back! Why? Because Im awesome at selling benefits lol I realize if you bring some girlfriends and someone is the bride you could make an entire business from selling blow pops and glow sticks! That is if youre good at sales and not shy. So next time you think selling isnt fun find something to take you out of your comfort zone thats super cheesy and see if you can sell it. I guarantee youll walk away with some great lessons! P.S. I never spent a penny on her drinks either :)
