Heres whats up... I am SO proud of the widowed community that I am blessed to lead. I know that so many of you are struggling through these family oriented holidays. I know that whenever you hear a song about love, you are likely thinking immediately of the love that you miss every day of your life. I just wanted to share this song with you (thanks Kelly!) that I happened upon on facebook because LOVE is whats up. The love you have for each other matters. We are in this widowed life together, and I am so, so grateful for that fact. The only thing I can think of that would make widowhood harder is doing it alone. Many of you have made some huge (and difficult!) leaps forward this year. Youve challenged yourself to really live. Youve taken opportunities that scare you. Youve earned degrees, taken new jobs, changed careers, removed yourself from the grid, welcomed new love, made tough choices, and made emotional tough steps forward through your grief. My heart swells with pride every time I hear about the courageous ways you are moving forward in your lives. Some of you may read that sentence and think, Shes not talking about me. But, I am. Every day is a new day, and every day you get up and try again is another courageous step towards LIVING. Today I want to remind you that...youve got my love to lean on, and youve got each other all of your days. Hang on. Thank you so much for sharing your lives with me. I am not sure you will ever know how much being even a tiny part of your healing means to me. This one is for you.
