Here’s What’s Happening In Western Tidewater NOW – SUN AUG 18 The Dorchester Square Committee Group will hold their second annual reunion beginning Friday, August 16th through Sunday, August 18th. Friday night will be the meet and greet and on Saturday there will be a cookout, moon bounce, line dancing and lots of fun! On Sunday there will be a morning service and dinner. MON AUG 19 – 5:00pm Beginning Monday, August 19th through Wednesday, August 21st at Hayden High football field, the Mustang Football Camp will be held from 5 to 7pm. Football camp is for all area boys 8 through 13 years of age and is a non-contact camp. A $10 registration fee is required. For more information, call Coach Rob Carter at 569-8415. TUE AUG 20 The Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Virginia Department of Forestry are presenting a workshop “Focusing on Forestland Transfer to Generation ‘NEXT’” is being offered August 20 at the Fredericksburg Country Club in Fredericksburg. The purpose of the workshop is to assist family forest landowners in successfully planning for the transfer of their woodlands, intact, from one generation to the next. Current and future owners of family woodlands will be equipped with the basics of family communications, estate planning tools, and succession planning strategies to help ensure the family woodland legacy. Speakers include legal and financial experts experienced in estate planning, forest landowners who have successfully navigated the succession planning landscape, as well as natural resource professionals who work with landowners to conserve and manage land. TUE AUG 20 – 7:00pm Coming up Tuesday, August 20th beginning at 7pm, the Franklin Shag Club will hold its mid month social until 10:30pm. NOW – DEC 13 Applications are now being accepted for The Smithfield Farmers Market’s first Christmas Evening Market.
