Here’s my week in a nutshell. I went to the Back congregation last Sunday morning to listen to Chris Kiki-Anna MacRae, and he was just brilliant, speaking of the genealogy of Christ and applying that sermon in quite a marvelous way. What it’s done is lead me to read (again) Edward “Ted” Donnelly’s book on “Peter ,Eyewitness of His Majesty”. This is a great wee book with loads of helpful illustrations, all going back to Peter, the Disciple. I plan to take a week just using my FB page quoting stuff from this book; it is so helpful (in my opinion). Here’s a wee taster: Peter makes this great confession to Jesus on behalf of all the other disciples, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God”. All their hope is in Him, because Jesus alone is their only answer to their sin and lostness, just as it is with us. He is Lord and Saviour and we must place our entire confidence in Him and depend on Him alone for all that we ever need. Without Jesus, we have nothing. And if I could ever encourage any of my FB friends tonight, it would be to take hold of Jesus and embrace him as your greatest friend…ever!
