Here’s something for anyone interested…unfortunately only for anyone 3 or 4 hours from Belleville, ON for the time being. We did a few of these while I was flying the Cormorant in Gander, NL and it worked out just awesome. It’s sort of a story telling evening (or morning…or afternoon for that matter) through song. Before we go through official channels, we thought we’d put it out there for you guys. If you are part of a parish or are friends with the folks at your local church and would be interested in having us come in and do a 50-60 minute intimate performance then let us know. Basically, we let the local churches know that we’d be interested in playing a solo/duo performance busker style. In other words, if you enjoy the show then you can pay what you can afford. We’d mostly sing inspirational or story songs, some of our own as well but the more obscure ones. We’ve always loved the older (and newer) story songs, especially the ones that pull on the heart strings. We don’t get the chance to do this much anymore so it’s a treat for us and hopefully for you too. We’d show up to your local church with our own sound gear, it’s designed for these type of events so it requires very little room. We just start playing, share stories and then we pack up and move on. None of these impromptu performances are contracted as there’s no absolute guarantee that I’ll be able to do it. Being a Search & Rescue pilot I could be called out or on an extended rescue and not be able to show up. In the event that that does happen then we would make your church a priority in rescheduling. Obviously we’ll do everything in our power to make sure this doesn’t happen but it’s a reality in my profession. We took one of my old Gibson Guitar cases and turned it into a fancy tip jar, as you leave if you enjoyed the show then you can donate whatever you can afford. All we would really need is a volunteer to help us with the CD’s and stuff. **Important** We will only do these Storytelling shows in Churches. We’re happy to perform for almost any venue but if you would like to book the full show or even these particular ones in any other venue other than a church, then please contact my management. For the time being these will only be offered on Saturday & Sunday and for the months of October and November. (The first weekend in October is already booked, sorry).
