Here’s the truth about Andy Kaufman “revealed.” He was born in New York City on January 17, 1949. He was the beloved first son of Stanley and Janice Kaufman. Andy was a surreal and innovative entertainer that cared deeply about family and friends… and was fearless. Andy performed the only Elvis impression “The King” himself enjoyed as well as transmuted the “Mighty Mouse” theme for all time. After starring on a successful sitcom, wrestling women, acting in films and staging a few talk show fracases, Andy Kaufman died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood on May 16, 1984 from complications attributed to a rare form of lung cancer normally associated with smokers, which Andy was not. He was buried at the Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, New York. Andy left this earth at the age of thirty five… and has been missed ever since. And, in the interest of showmanship, here’s a never before revealed fact: When Marty Feldman let Andy know how much Peter Sellers admired his performances, Andy choked up. Fin.
