Here’s why I’m taking the (semi-break) from updating my status. I need time to write new positive material. Gosh, it requires much time - as much as 20 minutes to put together a status – lol - seriously. I’m of the view that a person’s status carries much influence. Consequently, we must be extremely careful about what we choose to disseminate to the masses. Generally, my messages are intended to empower others to take action to improve themselves and the world in which they live, work and play. It isn’t about updating my status because I feel to “run my mouth”. Actually, my writing must have a message – it must inform, educate and inspire humanity. Admittedly, I write every message in Microsoft Word before I post it as my status – lol. This method is deliberate because it gives me the opportunity to get the message right before it reaches you. Here’s how it’s done: 1. I think about the message as thoroughly as possible to avoid any possible disconnect. The key is to look at how people regard God, view themselves and relate to others. 2. I selectively choose the words/phrases to express the message; this process involves researching words/phrases to ensure they’re used in the correct context. 3. I write the message; the intention is to use short sentences and keep it to the point. 4. I edit the message; for grammar, subject & verb agreement, syntax and sentence parallelism, et al. 5. I read the message aloud; in order to pinpoint any oversight during the editing process; I may even re-edit the material. Oh - some of the statuses I posted in the last few days (including up to the evening of June 19, ‘13) were actually written one week ago. So now you know why I need the (semi-break); I need time to write new positive material.
