Here’s your warning…for all the people who hate seeing these posts of people whining in a public forum, that is EXACTLY what this is, so I apologize, but now you know, so move on. Out comes the violin... You know, you’d think by now I would have figured it out. People have told me my whole life I’m too nice, and I always blew them off and told them they were wrong. But the older I get, the more I figure out that nice people really do finish last in a lot of circumstances. Sure, there are plenty of times when it benefits you. But, when it comes to caring for other people, it’s a terrible attribute to have, at least it has been for me. I’m nice to people, and they take advantage of it. Then I actually try to make it better by trying to do even more, and all it leads to is them taking more advantage of it. The more I do and the harder I try, the worse they actually treat me. It’s like I have a sign on my head that says, “I’m nice, so please see how much you can milk it and please just do whatever you want whenever you want with whoever you want”. Just don’t understand it. Feeling crushed and stupid for thinking this time it was any different when in fact it was the worst it’s ever been. Public venting session over. Say what you will about the motives.
