Heritage Day attempt at catching some Zzzz’s: Got home just after 3 and decided a bit of ‘bed-rest’ with a good Kindle book would be in order. Dogs playing in the backyard and have little interest in my activities. After reading a few pages, my eyelids are getting a bit heavy and the very second I put the Kindle down on the bedside table and close my eyes, I feel Nero jumping onto the bed. Naturally, the first action is to droop THE LIPS into my face. So we do the compulsory kissing and hugging and I ask him to lie down. Which he does, lengthwise, with his anus in my armpit. :( I get pushed off towards the edge of the bed, but for the sake of peace, I just grab onto the headboard with my arms above my head. In comes Brooke, asking to get onto the bed as well. Of course Nero must now put up this massive display of aggression. Lip pulling, teeth showing, deep chested warning growls..... The works...... Brooke is squeaking and tweeting and begging. Eventually, Nero tires of the ‘game’ and Brooke makes use of the opportunity to jump onto the bed across my face and settles with her chin on my mouth. (Nero’s butt still in my armpit and leaning even more firmly into me, pushing me closer to the edge.) Now Tippi enters the fray: She is jumping with her front feet against the mattress. Hard! So Brooke is trying to bite her across my face. So much for a bit of rest. :( Oh, and I should not fail to mention, as I am typing this, the lot of them are stretched out, on the FLOOR, never you mind ! Doing whatever dogs do in dreamland.
