Heritage Foundation for Development (HFD) is an NGO, duly registered with the Kenya NGO Board and was established in March 2009, to play a pivotal role in transforming for better, the lives of children and youth of Kenya and to start with, Nairobi area HFD partners with societies, organizations and institutions with an aim to raise a purpose driven, result oriented, resourceful, versatile and prosperous young people through platforms that not only equip youth and children with vision, knowledge and skills but that also ignite passion, cultivate discipline and create an enabling environment – all vital in pursuit of purpose. In a nation where un-resourcefulness, unemployment, poverty, ethnicity, substance abuse and moral decadence loom large and a society where identity crisis, negative influence, idleness, ignorance, irresponsibility and abuse challenge particularly the younger generation there is a need to prepare our youth and children to successfully confront challenges and conform to their aspired destinies. It has been rightly said that a nation that does not invest in its young has no future. Among other projects, HFD regularly holds for years now, Holiday Mentorship & Talent Promotion Projects in various venues in the city where youth and children participate and get an opportunity to invest in quality learning & value adding experiences to position them as outstanding individuals and agents of change in a market-place of a competitive world. HERITAGE KIDS HOLIDAY PLUS is a child friendly and multi-faceted project that offers various activities necessary for the all round development of a young individual. Mentorship and Talent Promotion activities are the core of our programmes and events with among other activities Journalism, Music, Theatre, Poetry, Dance, Leadership, Modeling, Rugby, Arts, Drawing and Design classes and clubs). AUGUST 2013 HOLIDAY PROGRAM DETAILS: VENUE: Plainsview Educational Point (South B/ Hazina Road opp. Belle Vue). DATE: 19th- 31st August 2013 (weekdays only from 9:00 am to 1:30pm). AGE: 4-15 years. ENTERTAINMENT Movies(twice a week) and Swimming on Friday afternoons (optional). CHARGES Kshs 1000 per week. (Optional Kshs 250 for transport). Swimming – Kshs 200. Time table copies available for parents. We also have fitness and Tae kwon do classes, Ballerina and salsa classes, Academic assistance, Speech therapy, handwriting improvement and counseling services. Parents are also expected to attend on 31st August for the presentations and awards ceremony.
